Seaman Engineering Corporation

 

Founded in 1995, Seaman Engineering Corp. is a mechanical engineering firm which specializes in the design and commissioning of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems for new and existing commercial and public buildings. Seaman Engineering was formed to meet the needs of clients who desire a company that can provide coordinated, timely, and competitive full-service engineering capabilities. We offer a broad spectrum of services including master planning, building structure and system audits, analysis and design, energy/operating cost analysis and quality assurance reviews.

 

Our experience is in all aspects of building mechanical systems for colleges and universities, apartment buildings, hospitals, nursing homes, fire stations, banks, health clubs, YMCAs, senior centers, office buildings, town halls and courthouses. Our primary clients are architects, municipal, industrial facility & property managers, and building owners. We are sensitive to a client’s needs and project budgetary constraints in formulating creative designs and solutions to complex problems and situations.

 

A member of the US Green Building Council and with Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design® (LEED) accredited professionals on staff, we can work anywhere in the United States. Kevin Seaman, P.E. LEED® AP

Kevin Seaman is the President of Seaman Engineering. A registered professional Mechanical Engineer in Massachusetts, Connecticut and Rhode Island with over 25 years of experience. Kevin is an expert in all building mechanical systems including HVAC, Plumbing and Fire Protection system engineering, design and construction support. Kevin is responsible for all project management oversight, project review, mechanical design and is the primary contact for all client communication. He received his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Massachusetts at Lowell. Kevin is actively involved with his sons Boy Scout Troop and greatly enjoys outdoor activities such as camping and hiking.


As well as being an Accredited Professional with Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED)®, Kevin is a member of the American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE), American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) and the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA).

Deb Seaman

Debra Seaman is the Vice President and CFO responsible for all financial, Human Resources and overall management of the company. She has been with the company since 2007, joining her husband Kevin in this highly successful business venture. Continuing Education is very important to Debra, she continues to study to improve herself both professionally and personally. Currently, she is enrolled in a four year program in Hartford, CT. A long-time resident of Auburn, MA, she is very active in her community with the Auburn Chamber of Commerce, School Council, Boy Scouts and church programs. Debra is also involved with a private foundation that serves children in need. She was the executive administrator of an international healing ministry for Father Ralph DiOrio, Jr. With all that she has achieved, Debra believes the most important role she can hold is that of a wife and mother. She cherishes every moment with her family whether biking, hiking, camping, celebrating, or just relaxing. Debra’s dream would be to own a place by the ocean where family, friends and community can come to escape the stresses of everyday life.

Christopher Robinson, P.E.

Christopher Robinson is Director of Engineering and specializes in engineering, fire protection, plumbing and HVAC systems design. He takes projects from design conception through construction and certificate of occupancy as well as reviews designs to ensure code compliance and quality. Chris has worked at Seaman Engineering for the last 24 years. A member of the PI Tau Sigma Honor Society, Chris graduated from University of Massachusetts at Amherst in 1992 with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and earned a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University in 1993. He received his professional engineering license in 1999 for mechanical engineering.

 

A resident of Dudley, Mass., Chris has two children and is active in the choir and auditing committee of his church, the First Congregational Church of Dudley.

Derek Mathieu

Derek Mathieu specializes in project engineering and management as well as computer assisted design (CAD). He has 14 years of industry experience with the last 10 years with Seaman Engineering. Derek began his professional career as a project coordinator for an architectural firm and after working on installation of residential, commercial and industrial HVAC systems, he became a designer for a Massachusetts based architectural firm before joining Seaman. A resident of Mason, New Hampshire, Derek graduated from Vermont Technical College 2001 and is the co-owner of an equestrian facility.

Matthew Seaman

Matthew Seaman, a proud member of the Seaman family, specializes in AutoCAD drafting, HVAC load calculations and design. He has been working at the company for 8 years learning all aspects of the business. Matt graduated from Quinsigamond Community College and is continuing his studies at the University of Massachusetts at Lowell for his Mechanical Engineering degree to fulfill his desire of becoming a Professional Engineer. A resident of Auburn, Mass., Matt is an Eagle Scout and refurbished the kitchen at his church for his Eagle project. While school and work take up most of his free time, he enjoys being outside fishing and boating, playing basketball and spending time with his little brother.

Christopher Seaman

Chris Seaman, another proud member of the family, focuses on drawing coordination with the client, in-field surveying and CAD and Revit 3D drawing and modeling. He, like his brother, has worked for the company for 8 years. A graduate of Porter and Chester Institute, Chris received his HVAC/R and CAD certificates from Porter and Chester and also holds a Universal Refrigerant E.P.A. license. Chris is an Eagle Scout and loves to participate in endurance and 5K races. A lifelong resident of Auburn, he likes to travel when the opportunity arises.

Frank Gleason

Frank supports the Mechanical design group using both AutoCAD and Revit in coordinating the ductwork, plumbing, and piping systems within the building. A graduate of Worcester Polytechnic Institute and Porter and Chester Institute, Franks holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering. A basketball fan, he loves to hike and travel to as many places as possible.

Lynn Lorusso

Lynn assists in the day-to-day management functions of the company and is responsible for accounts receivable and inventory control and is a valuable team member. A graduate of Dean College, she is active in her church. Lynn is the past president of the Women’s Guild and has worked with the youth group. Lynn provides administrative services and is involved in the Cursillo Course in Christianity program. She received the Stewardship Award for service given to others and an Employee Recognition Award when she was employed by the State of Massachusetts.

Jacob Lorusso

Intern

Jacob has been with the company for a year and is involved in performing load calculations, and heating and cooling and fire protection drawing in AutoCAD. He is a graduate of St. John’s High School where he was a member of the National Honor Society. Jacob is currently attending the University of Massachusetts at Lowell. When he is not working, Jacob teaches karate, and coaches and referees the basketball league at his church where he also volunteers.
